Faucet accessory kits usually come with ½×¾ Short Bath Shoe Gasket, but understanding the different types can help you make a choice when replacing or upgrading
Rubber gaskets: The most common, with low cost and good elasticity, but they may age, harden and crack over long-term use.
Silicone gaskets: With superior performance, better resistance to high and low temperatures and aging, and a longer service life, they are the choice of many high-quality faucets.
Foam rubber or EVA foam gaskets: Softer, with better cushioning and sealing performance, they are often used in scenarios where high protection of the countertop is required.
Flat gasket vs. special-shaped gasket
Flat gasket: It's just a simple circular ring.
Irregular-shaped gasket (with "skirt") : There is an extra circle of "skirt" on the side. After installation, the "skirt" will adhere to the inner wall of the installation hole, significantly improving the sealing effect and effectively preventing water from seeping down along the hole wall. It is strongly recommended to use this.
(The left one is a flat gasket and the right one is an irregular-shaped gasket with a skirt, which has a better sealing effect.
